This week we have to do things just a little bit differently. Why?

Because the panel this week is actually two panels – and they win the coveted spot because of the storytelling involved in the shot.

The comic is a flashback issue that explains why Groot is stuck in his baby Groot form and can’t grow any bigger.

The cosmic Gardener arrives and attacks Groot and Rocket and in a daring move, Groot saves Rocket right before he is smashed to bits and destroyed!

Rocket is now in his ship and returns to the Guardians of the Galaxy and finds a splinter from Groot in his hand and immediately begins to regrow him.

Now, here is where the panel comes into play…

We see Rocket, lamenting over what is left of Groot as the shot zooms into his eye.

Panel of the Week - Sep 25, 2017 detail

It gets closer, and closer, to reveal a tiny camera in his eye – then a narrator’s voice is heard.

Turn the page and you get the reveal that it is Mojo.

Panel of the Week - Sep 25, 2017 detail

Now, you are stuck with the consequences and realizations, that Mojo has been recording and broadcasting what Rocket sees – but for how long?!

Was he involved in his creation?

So many good questions which leaves me wanting to read more!

Well played Guardians of the galaxy, for an awesome reveal and a surprising villain.
