Welcome to Comics on Radar, where I review comics-related items that caught my eye over the past week…

We will dig right in…

Jessica Jones #12 coverOn-Screen Comics Dept.

Full Bleed #1 coverBecoming a “Grown-Up” Nerd Dept.

  • First – I’m reminded of The Nerd Handbook. It’s not comic-centric, but really – send it to your friends 🙂
  • The real reason we’re here is for an article from yet another not comics-related site: Lifehacker. Of course I perked up when I saw their piece on How to Organize Your Geeky Stuff and Make Your Home Feel More “Grown Up.” Combined with the handbook above, these two articles could result in a greater peace and harmony in some homes I know of 😉
  • Add some culture to that newly all grown up shelf! Check out this most unique project from IDW: FULL BLEED: The Comics & Culture Quarterly. It’s the first of four quarterly issues. Each is hand-crafted, print-only, 200-pages in hardcover, and is curated and edited by IDW Publishing’s Dirk Wood and Ted Adams.

Young Animals at Thought Bubble Dept.

Bleeding Cool’s YouTube page has posted The Young Animal Panel At Thought Bubble 2017 (Most Of It) With Gerard Way.

The panel includes (from L to R):

Cecil Castellucci (Shade, the Changing Girl),
Gerard Way (Doom Patrol),
James Harvey (Mouth Baby),
Marley Zarcone (Shade, the Changing Girl),
Jody Houser (Mother Panic),
Tommy Lee Edwards (Mother Panic),
Nick Derington (Doom Patrol),
Jon Rivera (Cave Carson), and
Jamie Rich – Host (senior editor at Vertigo).

Note: The run-time is just overt 19:00. For some reason the clip starts over and plays a 2nd time at that point.

Author: Phil Your Host

Phil’s been reading comics since 1979 when a copy of Marvel’s John Carter Warlord of Mars got him hooked. Too many collections and long boxes later, he now produces podcasts and tinkers on web sites.
