Elektra (2017) #1 Review

When I last saw Elektra in the comics, she was running around with SHIELD and had her own team. But now, I find her in Las Vegas at Midway Casino.

Elektra (2017) #1 artThe casino is harboring a dark side of guns, drugs and girls, but is also offering something else – a more high stakes game to some of its VIPs that Elektra is investigating. What it truly is or what its purpose it has yet to be revealed. The mastermind behind it all is revealed at the end, and that in itself, makes me want to pick up the next issue and continue reading.

Matt Owens’ writing is interesting and flows off the page. When combined with Juann Cabal’s artwork, the action comes alive. His artwork also resembles that of Frank Cho, which I like very much. This is the start of a good series that has the possibility to be great.

I rate Elektra #1 a 7 out of 10.
