No dream, no hoax, no lie, this IS Cap and this IS happening, believe it or not! PLUS: Mark Waid delivers an untold tale from Captain America’s past, featuring the classic artwork of Jack Kirby!

Captain America has been stuck in the future after getting re-froze in the past. He woke up to a post apocalyptic world and then took it upon himself to fight the downtrodden and rebuild civilization. But, when that doesn’t work out after a long time in the future, Steve uses a Hail Mary from Bruce Banner and travels in time to the past to fix everything before it begins.

However, when he arrives, he has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Captain America only has one option. He has to stop a missile from launching to save the future. Cap does the only thing he can to fight it by climbing onto the missile and destroying its guidance system.

This causes the missile, and Cap, to be destroyed, falling back into the ocean. Cap died a hero and showed who he really is to save everyone.

But, don’t worry everyone, Cap isn’t really dead, only his future self. He came back in time right as he was frozen, so after he died destroying the missile, the heat and wreckage broke him free of his icy enclosure and he is alive to fight another day. So, for saving the day by some funky time travel goodness, this sequence of panels is this week’s Panel(s) of the Week!
