Title: Mighty Thor #700 Price: $5.99 Publisher: Marvel Comics Story: Jason Aaron Art Team: Walter Simonson, Russell Dauterman, Daniel Acuña, James Harren, Becky Cloonan, Das Pastoras, Chris Burnham, Andrew MacLean, Jill Thompson, Michael Del Mundo, Olivier Coipel

Solicit: DEATH OF THE MIGHTY THOR Part 1 The final judgement comes as the Mangog arrives! The War Thor will meet the beast head on. But even the bloodthirst of this Ultimate Thor may pale in comparison to the might of the Mangog! The battle rages as Jane’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, and she might not have to wait for the final judgment at all. The clock is ticking, and no hammer can save her this time. It’s the beginning of the end that will lead to the most dramatic return in the Marvel Universe!

Mighty Thor #700

This week’s panel of the Week is epic in nature. But don’t just take my word for it, take the words of the Norns in the book itself. “Over the eons and across the many dimensions, we Norns have seen some very different sorts of Thors. Big Thors. Little Thors. Bearded Thors. Girl Thors. But there has only ever been one kind of Thor story. The epic kind. This is one of those.”

If you don’t know, the Norns live in the roots of Yggdrasill, the world tree, and can see the threads of fate that lead to a person’s future. But in this comic, the Queen of the Norns is fighting off an attack and when doing so, shows her vision of the War of the Realms.

Panel of the Week 11-3-17 detail There is so much to see! Making our way around the image, we see Loki with the Infinity Gauntlet and the Celestials casting judgement with Mangog looming overhead the image. In the center of the image we see Thor, no longer unworthy, with a golden arm and hammer and his axe. But at what cost, because next to him we see Jane Foster, lifeless on the ground. Below, we see the Frost Giants on the march in what looks like a frozen New York, Asgardia being ripped in half while on fire, and many warriors fighting, including the Sub-Mariner! This is an EPIC panel and I cannot wait to see these vision come alive on the comic page!
