Solicit: Someone is killing off members of an ancient group of mutants called the Externals, but Cable’s crew of New Mutants are jumping through time to find the killer once and for all – and their investigation leads straight to the vampiric mistress Selene!

Randy: THE NEWER MUTANTS continues as Cable and his crew jump through time to find the killer of the externals! I’m excited to see where this story goes.

Phil: If you’re not already reading this – then instead seek out vol 1 of the trade, and sink into a most engrossing story – Matt Kindt-style.

Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil #2

Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil #2 coverPublisher: Dark Horse Comics
Writer: Jeff Lemire
Art: David Rubin, Dave Stewart
Cover Price: $3.99

Solicit: Lucy Weber, daughter of the Black Hammer, grew up to become an investigative reporter for the Global Planet. Now she’s on the hunt for the true story about what happened to Spiral City’s superheroes after they defeated Anti-God and saved the world. All answers seem to lie with the dangerous super villain tenants of Spiral City’s infamous asylum. As she gets closer to the truth she uncovers the dark origin stories of some of her father’s greatest foes, and learns how they tie into the puzzle of what happened to Spiral City’s greatest hero.

Phil: Coming in as the 2nd Dark Horse pick from me this week is this top-of-the-stack goody. Jeff Lemire’s Black Hammer is on a break – but you’d never know it, as this spin-off proves a worthy substitute, and only further enhances the overall Black Hammer world.
